National Home Policy Increase by 21% According to Policygenius

Policygenius is a great 3rd party validation of aggregate rate increases across the country and they are seeing a 21% increase nationally. Some states like AZ, and CO are seeing greater increases than this as they don’t have legislation protecting against higher premiums like CA Prop 103 limiting rate increases to 6.9%…but CA carriers are leaving the state because they are not profitable so pick your poison…higher rates because of no legislation or higher rates and/or state insurance because competition exits the market due to non-profitability. The root cause fix is going to be legislation limiting where we build, how we build and limiting inflation.
